dead end kids not going anywhere

Why do we always want to make sense of everything? Even looking up into the sky there are those who try to make sense out of the cloud formations. It is like reading tea leaves. Notice the future is involved? If we did not want to make sense of everything what would that say about our future? Talking to an atheist is like talking to a dead end kid. He is not going anywhere. If he is not going anywhere then he did not get here. He has no existence. No Exit means No Entrance. Sounds like a good title for a book if it only made sense.

gentlemen! start your engines!

We are strong in our greatest weakness. Because we are not able to know all that can be known in order to make an informed decision, we are forced to rely on faith in whatever decisions we place our faith in. This is luck for us because it is only through faith forcing us to connect to a power source outside ourselves, a unique relationship to each one of us alone. If power came within we would be God and with God power within Himself implodes, creating big bangs.

the far future is farfetched

How we speak about someone tells us less about who or what we are speaking about and more about ourselves than we often realize. We are all in some pretty strange orbits if we could only track ourselves from outside ourselves. Any way you look at it, an idea to be new or revolutionary, giving us a leap ahead, has to be by definition, farfetched.

thoughts like switches

The big problem we have to solve is how to get our ideas into the temporary concrete world. We externalize second what we are internalizing first. How is this accomplished? What is this thinking, night and day dreaming, all about? How much can we practically hope to control?  I sense our thoughts can be like switches turning something in the concrete on and off. By concrete I sense it would be electrical and/or magnetic. Our thoughts could be like fingers on a mouse pointing. Perhaps if one stretches the envelope too far we need best to slip into fiction if we are to start the process off.

even empty is something

There has to be more to everything we see around us beyond conscious physical effort and any the force of our will to survive, only to fail. My understanding is that it is generally accepted Einstein thought space was empty. I do not believe anything is empty. It may be unseen but it is not empty. It is very likely energy, like gravity. If this is true, then we may ourselves have come from the unseen. When we complete our orbit, we may return there. It may even be that science is one of the arts and life is more art than science. Even fiction is more believable than fact.

act quickly but think faster

Time is an illusion. We do not have as much of it as we think. What we say think and do is what we become without really contemplating the future of it.

nature of the word emotion

Energy divided by motion is emotion, by which the Spirit speaks. Or if you prefer, by which abstractions speak. However, an abstraction does not have much Spirit, or any emotion within itself, and so is likely to end up as ruminations. To actually accomplish anything one must think like the actor James Dean. Meeting Dean on the sidewalk, so this was told, his former acting roommate, who did not make it big time like Dean, told Dean in so many words you really wanted to be an actor, you were not just going through with it. And all this too is spirit.

if anyone understood all it would be easy to forgive all

We must forgive for our own benefit. Only God, the personification of existence, forgives by forgetting for our benefit. Holding anything against another, whether justified or not, holds me back, turns me inward, halts growth which is itself always outward. It diverts my energy and my spirit. I cannot grow or create as an expert on what is wrong. I can be even right about what is wrong and still be neutralized in an obscure margin of productive creativity. In the same manner I consume production in order to produce. Just as taking an offense makes me offensive, not forgiving a wrong stalls me on the wrong. Focus on anything wrong makes me wrong, also by definition. My spirit wants to leave for the stars to survive, to exist even as the universe expands, to exist. I must grow, or die where I am, as do all.

so what's the story?

If  we can believe then we have the conduit to bring the abstract existence we believe into concrete existence. However, while believing is a force, the power of it must be connected outside ourselves. If the power to believe is connect to ourselves we would implode. If it is connected outside ourselves then we have to power to explode the abstract we believe into the concrete physical world created from the unseen. We are all stories. Everyone is a story. My story is that I do not know the whole story. But I found for myself a pretty good story, a story that is like no other story anyone has ever heard. He let others tell his story, He did not speak it himself. His story is that he not only raised someone from the dead but he raised himself from the dead. No one has ever heard a story attempted like that before. He is the first one with that story and so he is the author of it and no one call ever tell a story like that ever again. Now the story is essentially this, that you believe and that the spirit of the thing is the actual fact even before it becomes a concrete fact. The letter of the law can evade the spirit of the law. In order to believe something we have to have a power outside ourselves. If I had this power within myself I would self destruct in the act of exerting this power. We cannot plug into ourselves. So we have to choose the power we want to believe in and the only power I am willing to trust outside myself is the full story of one called Jesus the Christ. His story has many witnesses. His story was told in countless written accounts that have survived. I understand only one copy of Homer survives and yet many believe this story even as the many witnesses to the story of Jesus is doubted by these same people. These witnesses do not all agree which indicates they are not operating in concert. Everyone has a different witness. Every single one of us has only one witness. It is either our own and ours or is copied from someone else and is theirs. This is my witness and it is given for my own benefit and not to persuade anyone else. Everything we say we say for our own benefit even if we think we are trying to persuade others. We are persuading ourselves to build faith in what we are saying. Whatever the hearer of my witness thinks or does with their interpretation of my witness is to their credit or blame, not mine. So I suspect we all need to be careful what we hear, that it is the same of what we speak. What we speak is what we create if we believe what we speak, providing we plug our belief into a power that explodes for us and will not implode against us. What we say of others is the same for ourselves even as it comes from within ourselves. The tormented man curses the mirror. As Walt Kelly's Pogo is said to have said, We have met the enemy as he is us. This is why it is may be better to bless the mirror.

faith in proof and the immutable laws of physics

Scientific proof is often presented as the end all to be all but in fact proof, all proof, is more likely strong probability than anything else. First we have two kinds of science, the outward astro-science and the inward quantum science. Reports indicate their laws do not agree and they do not yet know why. Also, they cannot agree on what time is. Nor can for that matter, even eye-witnesses, who are sources of notoriously unreliable evidence, agree with each other. On top of it all, we do not have all the facts, nor will we have all the facts, since facts grow with our discoveries revealing even more facts we did not know all along but only now become aware of them. It is a comedy of errors, we are learning that we are more ignorant than admitted previously. The word proof is used loosely and just how loosely is revealed as the centuries roll on while perception of the universe continues to expand.

the person without and the prison within

The difference between animals and all else other than Man is that while they perceive, we not only perceive but we conceive. This means we act purposefully beyond the concrete into the abstract. Ancient writers have accepted the personalization of God from the earliest known times. The reason for this, it is being suggested, might be that since God is a Spirit, in order for us to relate to His Spirit He must be a Person like we are persons. Or, more to the natural order of appearances, we must be persons like He is a Person. The concept of a person transcends impersonal forces and exhibits qualities unable to be reflected in inanimate unbodied spirits such as love, justice, etc. As we reach the outer orbit of our experience the realization these essays are trials becomes more evident. An essay is by definition a trial, then as such it more evident that the ideas proffered here are not carved in stone but are living efforts to explain in order to better grasp our conclusions. All this is in an abstract zone with threads to the spiritual realization of existence beyond the manifested world we deal with now. All this may be too technically described for many but it serves the purpose of reasoning the things of God out for those of us who are more technically based. In this way we can more clearly believe in God as Existence in order to make it successfully to the next stage, the spiritual. As Man becomes more aware of his environment and his own existence, then the laws of God become more scientifically understandable, and our abilities to relate to them become correspondingly more technically articulate and clear. Still, while the language dealing with this may become so, only the concrete symbols we use change, the spiritual truths describing the animate laws of existence cannot change. Only the concrete is relative. But the spiritual makes the concrete relative which is why the spiritual is absolute.

the essential existential

Reason it is so hard to define atheism is that it is harder than nailing jello to a tree because it does not exist. It is a negative. Negatives by themselves cannot be made into positives and are not only unproven but, as a held belief, they are illogical since a negative is just an inverted positive. Negatives exist as a concept but it is a concept that cancels itself out in actuality. The best that can be said for the future of atheism is that it is oblivion, which by itself does not exist by definition either and so it is not possible to realize since its' goals contradict themselves. They assume one does not predict any value in wanting to exist. If there is No essential Exit then there must have been No existential Entrance, so how did we get in here? But still, oblivion is very real and even attractive to many people, especially those who, not recognizing any hint of disappointment in their existence, are not dealing with life with any future hope of satisfaction, as it was with the college trained drinkers in my day. I mean, what were we thinking? Nothing as it turns out. And there is not much to be gained working toward nothing.

who is an individual and what is a group?

The individual is the focal point of the US Constitution and the entire purpose for the formation of the United States. We find here a formally written definition decided upon and accepted by individuals long before any of us. Therefore, we will use their definition as being the more legitimate definition since we live in this country under the law of that single one Consititution. An individual is one person alone who has rights not given by any one man, but by God or in our definition since they are one in the same, Existence. This definition cannot be evolved into anything else in any way without being a violation, and a right denied, which is a criminal act in violation of the civil right of the individual in the Constitutional definition. Anyone believing this, without any detailed elaboration, can be said in today's political climate to be generally a conservative. Conservative viewpoint can deviate from this whenever they, or anyone else, use certain rights, for instance States Rights, to mask the suppression of any other single individual right, such as the right to vote. States Rights are real and legitimate but become illegitimate whenever any legitimate right is used to cancel any other legitimate right all individuals are entitled to under the Constitutional definition of an individual. This should be self evident to everyone, even those under the burden of convoluted logic used to arrive at a predetermined point. So now we have penciled in our definition of an individual. Next we arrive at the most contentious individual to define, the group individual. What are their rights?

only two kinds of people

If you want to examine any subject it is a good method to divide it in two. Say we want to examine ourselves, and everyone else. It is difficult to examine one selves, but it can be done. Start by dividing people in two. All individuals need to be part of a group to survive and all groups need individuals to survive. So we might say then that there are two kinds of people. Individuals thinking as an individual in the group, and individuals who think as individuals for the group. As if in algebra, we work back to the simple and then back out again to the complex so we then reduce our paradigm as much as we can. This leaves us with a individual in a group and a group in an individual or, the individual and the group individual. We have to have a premise to start. If you can agree with this so far, you should be able to see where this is going. Once we start out with a premise it usually determines where one is going to end up. So we have to make sure our premise will not cave in us down the road. Next we have to define the terms of our premise. We've partially done this already but now we do it in detail to reduce it to the simple. All ideas, even simple ones, must revert to the simple before proceeding to the complex. So the next question is, who is an individual and what is a group? Perhaps we should let a day settle all this up to this point to reassure ourselves it is valid.

fumbling imaginations

Arthur Koestler, in selecting his theme for the Sleepwalkers, felt the great astronomers of the past made their discoveries as much by fumbling their way through imagination and intuition as by experiments in a laboratory. This idea of intuition suggests a source. A source that is by definition within existence and comes from out of existence, revealing imaginations about the source of those imaginations through us. It is as though we were created to study existence. This same observation has been over heard in other contexts, made by scientists studying the atom. It all fits together someway as yet not fully known, as when Kepler discovered God was a mathematician and that the harmony of the spheres was a mathematical harmony.

simple and the complex

Every discipline has it's own lingo, from the street loiterers to the tenured professors wandering in the academic pasture. This lingo is designed to keep outsiders out and insiders in. Physicists of all stripes use words that if defined naturally and without obtuse elaborations would make access to their debates open rather than closed as they prefer. One really only needs a simple dictionary to their slang. It is a distinct possibility these elaborate concepts are more art than anything else. If something is too complex it is probably orbiting out of useful sight. The complex comes from the simple. It is the simple that is difficult, the complex is easy as a juggler's dream.

binaries in prediction

In order to achieve a direction in any force it is necessary, it appears, to establish a binary model to encircle the effort. This is basic and the unseen spiritual aspect of this theory is garnered from the observed idea of any subject of any size and power effecting or being effected by another similar entity. Since this model is present in so man instances we encounter, it might be concluded that the same model can be used in prediction as well as in establishing an understanding of the entities of our concern. To be continued....

ballast seeking balance

Whatever we present outside we are generally to varying degrees are the opposite deep inside. The reason this is true is because we can not help but speak from our own perspectives and for our own benefit. The reason that is true is because the incentive to speak is always to maintain a balance between our spirit within and our presentation of self without so that we will not sink. This is a theory in consideration.

the abstraction distraction

There are many who cannot think in terms of abstractions, for them their attraction is for the concrete they can see feel and touch. This inability to focus on our spiritual nature results in some really odd positions that seem natural and even logical from their limited perspective in the present. The future really does not seem of great concern if one cannot project abstractions from the more concrete present connexions. The religious nature of man is designed to prepare us for a future with many facts missing. These facts as they become known are replaced by the awareness of a growing number of facts we do not yet understand at all, let alone fully. The natural is difficult enough for it to embrace everything that is known already. The super nature of supernatural is not yet understood anywhere near completely, but we have hints hovering all around us. So then it is for these people, easy to believe in the supernatural ability of Christ to rise from the dead. But it is far too cumbersome for them to realize anyone could by their own faith in a Christ who could accomplish this, also themselves have the faith to believe they could do anything much at all, much less tap into that power that could heal anyone or cast a mountain into the sea. Without this ability to ignore limitations and venture into the unknown, the future is postponed until they might do it accidentally. Accidentally connected events have resulted in some great leaps ahead in our understanding of the spiritual that give us advantages in the concrete. These accidents come out of planned efforts, they do not just pop up out of nowhere as an unplanned evolutionary view might appear to magically materialize from the spirit. There are no limitations to our roving darting thoughts, as we similarly see reflected in the limitless galaxies of an expanding universe. Just because I do not understand the algebra of something does not mean it is not understandable. If I persist then persistance alone propells me forward. Faith persists. Persistance is the backbone of faith.

God is a Person by definition

God must be personalized in our perceiving minds before we can comprehend or relate with meaning to God as Existence since Existence is a Spirit, not what we see, from the unseen or not. All spirits have a body or seek a body in order to be objectified so they can execute their spiritual nature. You can tell them by their fruits. This is a definition of our terms, neither a theory nor a proof. Since  we must make decisions without all the facts we must have faith in something in order to act or have a position in the matter. Even no position is a position. The link in the sidebar, God is Existence, elaborates these ideas and was edited and expanded today.

dreams in the doorway

The ancients wrote asking why God hung eternity in their hearts? Why is it we conceive of such things? A university research spokesman once commented to the affect that it seemed to him as if he was brought into creation to study the intricate structures of himself by those same intricate structures themselves. The atoms were studying the atom to figure out what the story was with the atoms. Eternity, survival, well being, and knowledge of existence seem to be hung in many of our hearts by the very Existence that brought us, each individually, into existence. These haunting thoughts do not come from nothing, so why is the something that gives birth to such thoughts even in our consciousness at all? It seems that there may be a model for our future presented to us in the nature of dreams that could introduce us to the next dramatic stage in our future. Dreams may be the doorway to that future. Why do we dream? Why do we even sleep? What is this constant rehearsal about? Why do dreams seem so real when we experience them but quite unreal when we awake from them? All human beings are also dream beings. Dreaming ties all mankind together, Jack Kerouac. These are a few of the questions that might be something worthwhile exploring, worthwhile turning our subconscious loose in a wide random search for meaning.

The problem of evil

Everything seems to exist in a comparative state. Good vs evil, is just the beginning. One could go on forever identifying examples of comparative states. Speed vs light, vs sound, vs something else, but the origin of evil is different in that oblivion exists as an absence of existence. Therefore while it can happen and one can experience it, it is being experienced as a separation from existence. That is one of the hells of oblivion, it cannot actually ever be reached.

God exists by definition

Speaking further, the Spirit of Existence is not what is caused to exist, Existence is the Spirit of what causes to exist what exists. Existence always existed. Existence that exists outside time is normally capitalized for clarity, because of this. Time is a concept that can only exist in a comparative state. The spirit creates it's own time, forms and distances since by themselves time, form, and distance do not exist spiritually because they must first come from the abstract and then appear in the concrete. In other words, they are manifested from the spirit. The universe appears to expand forever because the spirit is not restricted and does not relate to distance outside its' own created distances. Form is a manifestation of the spirit which can be seen in the spirit but not from outside the spirit as it takes place in the concrete which is outside the spirit. Even though negative spirits desire oblivion and may achieve it, oblivion could exist in an anti-state similar to the concept of black holes.

zero and one, on and off

I sense there is a tremendous secret right under our noses, too simple, too close to existence itself to identify clearly. Computers set the world on fire, and their simple secret is the concept of on and off. It is hard to realize that these two concepts, one on and the other off, could be so simple as they are. But they are a part of a mind boggling advance, awakening and even changing our thinking in a new way we have yet to fully appreciate. Always look to the simple for the complex and start dividing.

mirrors in our memories

The complex comes from the simple,
the simple does not come from the complex.
There is nothing new under the sun is not technically true in the concrete but it is spiritual true in the abstract. Ancient writers were smarter than any  observers today tend to give them credit for because these lookers-on tend to fall into a hubris via the fallacy of jumping categories when they compare ancient writers to ourselves today. We cloud ourselves in our more modern technical language and perspective. But our technical heavy repetition of events organizing concrete facts to tell the spirit of the story is no more accurate than theirs. It does not matter how many or how accurately concrete facts survive in recording devices, it does not change the spiritual account of what happened. If someone does not believe what happened then, they would not believe it today either. What appears in the concrete depends on what began in the abstract world of the spirit.

a spiritual objective reminder

After we possess and inanimate object or that object becomes associated in our memory with someone, with a place or with another time, it serves as a talisman which begins a mystery for our spirit. It becomes like a word representing an abstract concept, but is itself actually a sculptured reminder of that concept. When it actually becomes or is cut off from the abstract then it is in the physical world, and is an idol. Similarly the pantheist believes in that which exists rather than the existence from which it comes.

we live in a soup of faith

Proof is relative and changes with each newly added knowledge information. If a high enough standard of proof is required then further up the ladder a decision becomes almost impossible to prove anything for total certainty. Nothing can be perfectly proved, except with a closed and limited amount of facts. We can decide we have enough proof but there will never be complete proof in evidence. If a jury takes a judge's too high standard of proof too literally, chances increase for acquittal. If even eye witnesses are suspect then what chance do we have to be technically sure of anything at all? Time also clouds our emotional reactions. Chances to misspeak or mishear are countless. We must decide what we are sure about. Now we are standing on faith.

everything is theory in the final anaysis

God is Existence. This is a definition, not a theory. A theory is a theory whether we choose to believe it or not. The big bang may be quite plausible and be very logical in the extreme but in the end everything is theory no matter how much proof we can assign to it. We never have all the facts, so must make a decision based on some measure of faith. This idea makes one postulate the likelihood we are in a spiritual soup which cannot be compared, in or to, size, form, time or distance. We must remember that the concrete all came from the abstract. The seen is from the unseen just like all complications come from the simple. There are amazing events recorded in the Bible which when a scientificly directed explanation is offered seems to render some perspectives believers and some not. This too is theory.
