faith in proof and the immutable laws of physics

Scientific proof is often presented as the end all to be all but in fact proof, all proof, is more likely strong probability than anything else. First we have two kinds of science, the outward astro-science and the inward quantum science. Reports indicate their laws do not agree and they do not yet know why. Also, they cannot agree on what time is. Nor can for that matter, even eye-witnesses, who are sources of notoriously unreliable evidence, agree with each other. On top of it all, we do not have all the facts, nor will we have all the facts, since facts grow with our discoveries revealing even more facts we did not know all along but only now become aware of them. It is a comedy of errors, we are learning that we are more ignorant than admitted previously. The word proof is used loosely and just how loosely is revealed as the centuries roll on while perception of the universe continues to expand.

the person without and the prison within

The difference between animals and all else other than Man is that while they perceive, we not only perceive but we conceive. This means we act purposefully beyond the concrete into the abstract. Ancient writers have accepted the personalization of God from the earliest known times. The reason for this, it is being suggested, might be that since God is a Spirit, in order for us to relate to His Spirit He must be a Person like we are persons. Or, more to the natural order of appearances, we must be persons like He is a Person. The concept of a person transcends impersonal forces and exhibits qualities unable to be reflected in inanimate unbodied spirits such as love, justice, etc. As we reach the outer orbit of our experience the realization these essays are trials becomes more evident. An essay is by definition a trial, then as such it more evident that the ideas proffered here are not carved in stone but are living efforts to explain in order to better grasp our conclusions. All this is in an abstract zone with threads to the spiritual realization of existence beyond the manifested world we deal with now. All this may be too technically described for many but it serves the purpose of reasoning the things of God out for those of us who are more technically based. In this way we can more clearly believe in God as Existence in order to make it successfully to the next stage, the spiritual. As Man becomes more aware of his environment and his own existence, then the laws of God become more scientifically understandable, and our abilities to relate to them become correspondingly more technically articulate and clear. Still, while the language dealing with this may become so, only the concrete symbols we use change, the spiritual truths describing the animate laws of existence cannot change. Only the concrete is relative. But the spiritual makes the concrete relative which is why the spiritual is absolute.

the essential existential

Reason it is so hard to define atheism is that it is harder than nailing jello to a tree because it does not exist. It is a negative. Negatives by themselves cannot be made into positives and are not only unproven but, as a held belief, they are illogical since a negative is just an inverted positive. Negatives exist as a concept but it is a concept that cancels itself out in actuality. The best that can be said for the future of atheism is that it is oblivion, which by itself does not exist by definition either and so it is not possible to realize since its' goals contradict themselves. They assume one does not predict any value in wanting to exist. If there is No essential Exit then there must have been No existential Entrance, so how did we get in here? But still, oblivion is very real and even attractive to many people, especially those who, not recognizing any hint of disappointment in their existence, are not dealing with life with any future hope of satisfaction, as it was with the college trained drinkers in my day. I mean, what were we thinking? Nothing as it turns out. And there is not much to be gained working toward nothing.
