Reason it is so hard to define atheism is that it is
harder than nailing jello to a tree because it does not exist. It is a
negative. Negatives by themselves cannot be made into positives and are not only
unproven but, as a held belief, they are illogical since a negative is just an
inverted positive. Negatives exist as a concept but it is a concept that cancels
itself out in actuality. The best that can be said for the future of atheism is
that it is oblivion, which by itself does not exist by definition either and so
it is not possible to realize since its' goals contradict themselves. They
assume one does not predict any value in wanting to exist. If there is
No essential Exit then there must have been No existential Entrance, so how did
we get in here? But still, oblivion is very real and even attractive to
many people, especially those who, not recognizing any hint of disappointment in
their existence, are not dealing with life with any future hope of satisfaction, as it was with the college trained drinkers in my day. I mean,
what were we thinking? Nothing as it turns out. And there is not much to be
gained working toward nothing.
