the far future is farfetched

How we speak about someone tells us less about who or what we are speaking about and more about ourselves than we often realize. We are all in some pretty strange orbits if we could only track ourselves from outside ourselves. Any way you look at it, an idea to be new or revolutionary, giving us a leap ahead, has to be by definition, farfetched.

thoughts like switches

The big problem we have to solve is how to get our ideas into the temporary concrete world. We externalize second what we are internalizing first. How is this accomplished? What is this thinking, night and day dreaming, all about? How much can we practically hope to control?  I sense our thoughts can be like switches turning something in the concrete on and off. By concrete I sense it would be electrical and/or magnetic. Our thoughts could be like fingers on a mouse pointing. Perhaps if one stretches the envelope too far we need best to slip into fiction if we are to start the process off.

even empty is something

There has to be more to everything we see around us beyond conscious physical effort and any the force of our will to survive, only to fail. My understanding is that it is generally accepted Einstein thought space was empty. I do not believe anything is empty. It may be unseen but it is not empty. It is very likely energy, like gravity. If this is true, then we may ourselves have come from the unseen. When we complete our orbit, we may return there. It may even be that science is one of the arts and life is more art than science. Even fiction is more believable than fact.

act quickly but think faster

Time is an illusion. We do not have as much of it as we think. What we say think and do is what we become without really contemplating the future of it.

nature of the word emotion

Energy divided by motion is emotion, by which the Spirit speaks. Or if you prefer, by which abstractions speak. However, an abstraction does not have much Spirit, or any emotion within itself, and so is likely to end up as ruminations. To actually accomplish anything one must think like the actor James Dean. Meeting Dean on the sidewalk, so this was told, his former acting roommate, who did not make it big time like Dean, told Dean in so many words you really wanted to be an actor, you were not just going through with it. And all this too is spirit.

if anyone understood all it would be easy to forgive all

We must forgive for our own benefit. Only God, the personification of existence, forgives by forgetting for our benefit. Holding anything against another, whether justified or not, holds me back, turns me inward, halts growth which is itself always outward. It diverts my energy and my spirit. I cannot grow or create as an expert on what is wrong. I can be even right about what is wrong and still be neutralized in an obscure margin of productive creativity. In the same manner I consume production in order to produce. Just as taking an offense makes me offensive, not forgiving a wrong stalls me on the wrong. Focus on anything wrong makes me wrong, also by definition. My spirit wants to leave for the stars to survive, to exist even as the universe expands, to exist. I must grow, or die where I am, as do all.

so what's the story?

If  we can believe then we have the conduit to bring the abstract existence we believe into concrete existence. However, while believing is a force, the power of it must be connected outside ourselves. If the power to believe is connect to ourselves we would implode. If it is connected outside ourselves then we have to power to explode the abstract we believe into the concrete physical world created from the unseen. We are all stories. Everyone is a story. My story is that I do not know the whole story. But I found for myself a pretty good story, a story that is like no other story anyone has ever heard. He let others tell his story, He did not speak it himself. His story is that he not only raised someone from the dead but he raised himself from the dead. No one has ever heard a story attempted like that before. He is the first one with that story and so he is the author of it and no one call ever tell a story like that ever again. Now the story is essentially this, that you believe and that the spirit of the thing is the actual fact even before it becomes a concrete fact. The letter of the law can evade the spirit of the law. In order to believe something we have to have a power outside ourselves. If I had this power within myself I would self destruct in the act of exerting this power. We cannot plug into ourselves. So we have to choose the power we want to believe in and the only power I am willing to trust outside myself is the full story of one called Jesus the Christ. His story has many witnesses. His story was told in countless written accounts that have survived. I understand only one copy of Homer survives and yet many believe this story even as the many witnesses to the story of Jesus is doubted by these same people. These witnesses do not all agree which indicates they are not operating in concert. Everyone has a different witness. Every single one of us has only one witness. It is either our own and ours or is copied from someone else and is theirs. This is my witness and it is given for my own benefit and not to persuade anyone else. Everything we say we say for our own benefit even if we think we are trying to persuade others. We are persuading ourselves to build faith in what we are saying. Whatever the hearer of my witness thinks or does with their interpretation of my witness is to their credit or blame, not mine. So I suspect we all need to be careful what we hear, that it is the same of what we speak. What we speak is what we create if we believe what we speak, providing we plug our belief into a power that explodes for us and will not implode against us. What we say of others is the same for ourselves even as it comes from within ourselves. The tormented man curses the mirror. As Walt Kelly's Pogo is said to have said, We have met the enemy as he is us. This is why it is may be better to bless the mirror.

faith in proof and the immutable laws of physics

Scientific proof is often presented as the end all to be all but in fact proof, all proof, is more likely strong probability than anything else. First we have two kinds of science, the outward astro-science and the inward quantum science. Reports indicate their laws do not agree and they do not yet know why. Also, they cannot agree on what time is. Nor can for that matter, even eye-witnesses, who are sources of notoriously unreliable evidence, agree with each other. On top of it all, we do not have all the facts, nor will we have all the facts, since facts grow with our discoveries revealing even more facts we did not know all along but only now become aware of them. It is a comedy of errors, we are learning that we are more ignorant than admitted previously. The word proof is used loosely and just how loosely is revealed as the centuries roll on while perception of the universe continues to expand.

the person without and the prison within

The difference between animals and all else other than Man is that while they perceive, we not only perceive but we conceive. This means we act purposefully beyond the concrete into the abstract. Ancient writers have accepted the personalization of God from the earliest known times. The reason for this, it is being suggested, might be that since God is a Spirit, in order for us to relate to His Spirit He must be a Person like we are persons. Or, more to the natural order of appearances, we must be persons like He is a Person. The concept of a person transcends impersonal forces and exhibits qualities unable to be reflected in inanimate unbodied spirits such as love, justice, etc. As we reach the outer orbit of our experience the realization these essays are trials becomes more evident. An essay is by definition a trial, then as such it more evident that the ideas proffered here are not carved in stone but are living efforts to explain in order to better grasp our conclusions. All this is in an abstract zone with threads to the spiritual realization of existence beyond the manifested world we deal with now. All this may be too technically described for many but it serves the purpose of reasoning the things of God out for those of us who are more technically based. In this way we can more clearly believe in God as Existence in order to make it successfully to the next stage, the spiritual. As Man becomes more aware of his environment and his own existence, then the laws of God become more scientifically understandable, and our abilities to relate to them become correspondingly more technically articulate and clear. Still, while the language dealing with this may become so, only the concrete symbols we use change, the spiritual truths describing the animate laws of existence cannot change. Only the concrete is relative. But the spiritual makes the concrete relative which is why the spiritual is absolute.

the essential existential

Reason it is so hard to define atheism is that it is harder than nailing jello to a tree because it does not exist. It is a negative. Negatives by themselves cannot be made into positives and are not only unproven but, as a held belief, they are illogical since a negative is just an inverted positive. Negatives exist as a concept but it is a concept that cancels itself out in actuality. The best that can be said for the future of atheism is that it is oblivion, which by itself does not exist by definition either and so it is not possible to realize since its' goals contradict themselves. They assume one does not predict any value in wanting to exist. If there is No essential Exit then there must have been No existential Entrance, so how did we get in here? But still, oblivion is very real and even attractive to many people, especially those who, not recognizing any hint of disappointment in their existence, are not dealing with life with any future hope of satisfaction, as it was with the college trained drinkers in my day. I mean, what were we thinking? Nothing as it turns out. And there is not much to be gained working toward nothing.
